Material requirements and pretreatment for ball press molding

Blog 1750

As a material forming equipment, the briquetting machine is widely used in major factories. In addition to considering the parameters and quality of the briquetting machine to ensure the molding effect and production efficiency of the material, we often ignore the requirements of the material itself. In order to ensure the molding effect, the material must also meet some forming requirements. The following are some requirements for materials for the briquetting machine, please refer to:

Ball press machine

The briquetting machine has certain requirements for materials during the molding process. Please refer to the following points restated:

  1. Material particle size: The particle size of the material to be formed should be less than 5mm. This can ensure that the pores between the material particles are uniform, and the material after pressing is more dense and has better strength.
  2. Purity of the material: The higher the purity of the material, the fewer impurities, which can extend the service life of the briquetting machine. At the same time, high-purity materials can avoid virtual balls and improve production efficiency. Impurities such as stones or metal particles may cause premature damage to the roller skin of the briquetting machine.
  3. Raw material ratio: The ratio and composition of raw materials directly affect the molding quality of the material. Especially for dry powder materials, the ratio of the binder needs to be carried out to ensure the combination of material particles and the effect of excluding air.
  4. Material humidity: An appropriate amount of moisture can improve the balling rate of dry powder materials. However, too high water content will reduce the strength of the pellets and fail to meet subsequent transportation and use requirements. Therefore, the humidity of the material needs to be controlled.
  5. Material supply before pressing: Whether it is dry powder material or wet powder material, on the premise of ensuring the molding quality, it is necessary to provide a uniform, continuous and stable material supply. Too much or too little feed can lead to empty balling or overloading.

Before the material enters the briquetting machine for molding, some preprocessing work is required.

  1. Removal of stones and metals: Before the materials enter the briquetting machine production line, the stones should be picked out, and strong magnets should be used to remove metal particles at key positions of the conveying equipment to prevent the stones and metal particles from affecting subsequent crushing and briquetting. causing damage to the machine equipment.

2 Crushing and screening: Before the material is pressed, its particles should be crushed to the required particle size range using crushing equipment. The appropriate particle size is then screened out through a screening machine, and those that do not meet the requirements can be returned for further crushing.

3 Proportion mixing: Before entering the briquetting machine, the crushed and screened materials should be proportioned and mixed with binder or moisture to meet the pressing requirements. A mixer can be used to mix the material and binder to ensure uniform mixing. After mixing, use the screw feeding device to evenly and stably enter the material into the briquetting machine for compression.
